fine Artist / red lake ojibwe
I've been a fine artist for over four decades. My work has been extensive - from galleries to illustrations and graphics for numerous Minnesota Native organizations and schools to community murals. In 2019, after surviving two battles with cancer (2013/2016), I decided to focus exclusively on my painting. For me, art is not only about expressing myself visually but also about healing.
My art
I paint in watercolor, with a focus on Gouache (Opaque watercolor)
I enjoy painting in water mediums including translucent watercolor and watercolor pencils. However, my preference is Gouache. It allows me to build layered imagery with a palette of strong, bold colors.
